We are approaching the end of our second decade making music together, and have become incredible, lifelong friends. Some of the friends we have made along the way are listed below. Some of these friends have relocated to far away lands; some have passed away; others have simply taken other journeys in life. Wherever they are, we love and miss them all.
Bob Kinder, PercussionBob provided our drumbeat for longer than any of us can remember. And nobody can remember the last time he missed a beat! Bob played drums in Swing and Dixieland bands for more than 50 years. Recently he had played with the Beacock Music New Horizons Band, was a member of the Portland Dixieland Jazz Society, and was a regular at their Monthly Dance Jams.
Jim Detchman, Trombone/TubaStarlene Benke, Tenor Sax/TromboneJohn Kaleta, Musical Saw/BanjoYes, we said musical saw. Stanley is John's preferred brand.
Jim Kellar, TromboneDane Walla, PercussionLaura Perkins, ClarinetDon Howard, Founder/WashboardMark Stuab, PercussionMark provided the drum beat from early 2014 to 2016. He started out with Vancouver Pops as a beginner at percussion and developed his skills to be able to play most parts needed. An avid collector of all things percussion. Played with not only Vancouver Pops but also as a busker while working for the Veterans Administration.

Laura Dean, TrumpetFrom blazing marches to more laid-back blues, Laura's trumpet led the way for a long time. Laura has played in several other local groups, including Battle Ground Community Band, Journey Theater (formerly Christian Youth theater), and various other groups and events.
Bill Peden, Tuba, Washboard, SpoonsBill was always right there on the ball lines with Robin, providing us with a good,, solid bottom end. He also provided novelty with his oldtime washboard and spoons. In addition to LRD, Bill played with the Battle Ground Community Band and Tuba Christmas. He was an avid old car fan owning a restored Allard and Ford Model A. He served his country as a pilot in the US Air Force and went on to serve 37 years in the Air Force Reserve. Sadly, Bill passed away on May 20, 2019 with LRD playing at his memorial service.
